HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful family on Sunday! The family was so easy to work with and I can't wait to work with them again. I almost didn't make it due to the flu that had me down the whole Christmas Break.....but thankfully I was on the mend by Sunday. I was thrilled to find they had picked a lovely spot behind their church.....it was PERFECT. I'd love to go back sometime.....not only was there a beautiful spot in front of the water....there was a huge field....a rustic picnic table....a small waterfall (well, I'll call it a waterfall...more like an overflow....but it was lovely anyways!!!) My head was spinning with ideas....OR was my head spinning because of the meds I had been on to help me get over the flu??? Either way the site was fantastic....I wish I could have stayed all day.  Here are a few shots from the day...

AFTER GOD'S SILENCE - WHAT?

I feel like I need to share this.... my prayer is that it helps someone as it has helped me this week.

I have days where I feel like no one underdstand what I am going through and then I realize I am just having a "pity party" for myself. God is in control and if I will just live my life with that attitude can have a victorious life. I know that we all have things in our lives that we consider "prayers unanswered"... mine is a child. Daniel and I have been praying for three years that the Lord would give us a child and yet God has not yet given us the object of our desire, a child.

We know many people around us who have children or are expecting a child. At times this can be very difficult. (Don't misunderstand me.....I AM happy for them!)  The other day someone told me they were expecting a child and I was excited for them ....and then a thought of   "GOD WHY? Why can't I have a child too?"  That night the Lord lead me to read a passage in the book "My Upmost for His Highest"  and for the date of October 11, 2009. WOW! It still amazes me when God gives me something at the very moment I needed it. It's just another reminder that my GOD is Real and He cares for me!

~Taken from the book by Oswald Chambers "My Upmost for His Highest"

"When He had heard therefore that he was sick, He abode two days in the same place where he was." John 11:6
Has God trusted you with a silence - a silence that is big with meaning? God's silences are His answers. Think of those days of absolute silence in the home at Bethany! Is there anything analogous to those days in your life? Can God trust you like that, or are you still asking for a visible answer? God will give you the blessings you ask if you will not go any further without them; but His silence is the sign that He is bringing you into a marvellous understanding of Himself. Are you mourning before God because you have not had an audible response? You will find that God has trusted you in the most intimate way possible, with an absolute silence, not of despair, but of pleasure, because He saw that you could stand a bigger revelation. If God has given you a silence, praise Him, He is bringing you into the great run of His purposes. The manifestation of the answer in time is a matter of God's sovereignty. Time is nothing to God. For a while you said - "I asked God to give me bread, and He gave me a stone." He did not, and to-day you find He gave you the bread of life.

A wonderful thing about God's silence is that the contagion of His stillness gets into you and you become perfectly confident - "I know God has heard me." His silence is the proof that He has. As long as you have the idea that God will bless you in answer to prayer, He will do it, but He will never give you the grace of silence. If Jesus Christ is bringing you into the understanding that prayer is for the glorifying of His Father, He will give you the first sign of His intimacy - silence.
